Tannoy MR 425 Bi-directional ribbon microphone
Here we have two Tannoy MR 425 bi-directional ribbon microphones, made in the mid 1950s.
These have a big bass proximity effect and sound pleasingly mellow, with a smooth top end.
They are in well used condition with some wear to the pain, but have been completely serviced and cleaned with new ribbons. It is almost impossible to find the old 4 pin connectors for these microphones but this pair have been converted to standard XLR output.
Listen to a nylon guitar recorded with these microphones (a little bit of bass cut, 2 dB compression and reverb have been added).
These will fit modern microphone stands and are ready for use right out of the box.
